In the O Globo Memory archive of the 4th edition of O Globo's “Faz a Diferença” (Makes a Difference) Award (for 2006), Alexandre Charão — then a surgeon with Doctors Without Borders — is listed as the winner of the World category.
The award ceremony took place on March 21, 2007, at Copacabana Palace. The institutional text of O Globo Memory lists the honorees of that edition and records, in the World category: Alexandre Charão, surgeon with Doctors Without Borders.
